Tim the person
Born in 1965 in rural Lincolnshire, the son of a teacher and parish priest, Tim attended the village infant and junior schools and a local boys’ grammar school. He graduated in 1986 from the University of Sheffield with a BA (Hons) in history before training as a teacher at the University of Nottingham. Whilst teaching in Kent he completed an MA in “Life and Thought in the Nineteenth Century”.
He is married to Lorna, also a teacher, and they currently live in Kent.
In 2016 he was granted the Freedom of the City of London.
Interests: travel, music (a church organist and has accompanied his church choir at Lincoln, Peterborough and St Paul’s Cathedrals as well as at St George’s Windsor), politics (stood unsuccessfully for parliament in 2005), reading (especially nineteenth century literature), boating and time with family and friends.
